National Press Day

On November 16,students of NSSHS got an opportunity to see,skim and scan through myriad publications brought out in India and abroad.Plus-Two Humanities batch conducted an expo of news publications on National Press Day.About 200 magazines and periodicals were displayed.International magazines and newspapers drew children's attention.

Chingam 1,which is being observed as Farmer's Day heralded a new dawn of prosperity in the young minds of NSSHSS.They made Chingam 1,the first day of the Malayalam calendar, an eventful day.It began with a special assembly where a few students talked about the significance of agriculture has in our life and reminded the youth of the need to develop a positive attitude towards farming. They conducted an exhibition that displayed a wide range of farming equipment,utensils,medicinal plants,vegetables,and models.The exhibition turned out to be a feast for the audience.                                                                                   

A.Sreedharan.an ex-military officer turned farmer was felicitated on Farmer's Day at a simple but gracious function held at the school.In his speech he underscored the need to imbibe the lifestyle based on agriculture and strive to pass on to generation next.The function was presided over by Headmistress,M.K Rajeswari.

Career Expo

A  Career  Expo was held at the  school on  August 3  under the aegis  of the Career Club. The Science , Humanities and Commerce  batches arranged classrooms displaying an array of charts ,posters,and power point presentations.Career related magazines were also displayed.The Expo opened doors to a world of diverse courses they can take up after plus two.Plus two Commerce bagged first prize in the class-wise competition.

Flying Colours

An Inter school Arts fest organized by St.Thomas HSS, Olavakkode  was held in October at St. Thomas HSS school. Fourteen schools from different parts of the district participated  in the event.The students of NSSHSS bagged the First Runner Up title when the host school won the Champion's Trophy.Competitions were held in different categories like Elocution, Debate, Rangoli, Anthakshari, Dumb charades etc
